Bible (Psalm 119:15). It is engaging the word of God in order to not only know the word but to internalize and do the word (James 1:22-25). Biblical meditation dives deep into the Scriptures and lays the heart upon what the Almighty says.
The Hebrew word for meditation carries the idea of a conversation. Within a good conversation, each party becomes intimately acquainted with one another. Ideas are expressed, pondered, examined, questioned, and discussed. Learning, thinking, sharpening, and challenging all take place among those in the conversation. An intercourse takes place and optimally, truth is sought. This is Biblical meditation.
