- Philippians 2:9-11 (NASB)
Why is Jesus the Lord of all? Jesus is Lord because death was incapable of keeping Him. Death’s inability to keep a hold on Jesus attests to the fact that Jesus was truly the Messiah – the Son of God. The resurrection of Jesus proves that this Jewish carpenter who claimed to heal the sick, forgive sins, and to be God was really who He claimed to be.
The Lordship of Jesus Christ holds a great implication for people today. The Bible states that at some time in the future, every human being who has ever lived will acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Lord of all. Allow that statement to sink into your mind. Although many do not acknowledge Jesus as Lord now, in eternity, all people will live in the reality of His lordship. This includes all people from the highest to the least.
The great option for people today is when they bend their knee to Jesus Christ. Those who bow before Him while living on the earth receive forgiveness of sins. Those who bow before Him after life on earth is done do not receive forgiveness.
