- Exodus 14:14 (ESV)
Silence is a wonderful thing. When we are silent, God can do amazing work.
God knows our every need. The Lord provides for our every need. After we talk to the Lord and make our requests known to Him, it is good to be silent. Our silence means we now wait in faith upon God’s provision.
In those times when words escape us, silence is good. When we do not know what to say, silence makes room for God to speak. Silence understands that God’s words are more important and affective than our own.
When we face a fork in the road and do not know which way to go, silence allows us to listen to God’s direction. As we cease to speak, God’s Spirit begins to remind us of Biblical truths that direct us to the right choice.
As we make our way through a hostile world, silence helps. Amidst the noise of the fallen, the believer’s silence invites God’s peace to settle our hearts and minds.
God desires to fight the battles which face His people. Silence is an act of trust in the ability of our God to save us. Christians can certainly be still and know that God is God (Psalm 46:10).
