My first question is this. What qualifies you to make such a conclusion? From what foundation do you propose your idea? You say that abortion in the case of Down Syndrome is a moral and civilized act. Why should your voice be heard over those who say that abortion is wrong? Please show me, Mr. Dawkins, some shred of reproducible evidence that proves to me that you are the authority on morality and civility. Perhaps if I could actually see with my own eyes, your authority on these matters, I could take your truth as the truth.
Of course, for me to take you as the source of absolute truth, I would need to see hard evidence which proves that the world was utterly void of morals, ethics, and civility before your arrival on the earth. I would also need to be convinced that when you leave this earth, these three qualities will also leave with you. Can you give me a reason to place my trust in you, Mr. Dawkins?
I now present my second question to you Mr. Dawkins. If you are not the source for truth, from what source does your truth come? Upon whom or what do you base your truth?
I do not wish to put words into your mouth but I suppose you receive your truth from human reason. If so, how reliable is human reason? Does it not change? Indeed, human reason does change. Human reason declares truth and retracts that same truth.
As of yet, humanity cannot agree on the definition of morality and civility. With such variance, Mr. Dawkins whose human reason is to be declared as correct? Are we to follow the reason of the smartest, wealthiest, or the strongest? Please enlighten me.
Lastly, Mr. Dawkins, how devoted are you to your reason. By justifying abortion based upon your definition of morality and civility, are you willing to absolutely live by your set standard? If a day comes in which, by your own moral and civil standards, it is determined to be better that you are aborted, are you willing to submit? I hope that you would not submit because all human life is precious.
I submit these questions for your consideration, Mr. Dawkins. Thank you.
