Paul exemplifies love for a government official in this verse. The apostle states clearly that his desire is for King Agrippa (and anyone else within the sound of Paul’s voice) to know Christ as Savior. Paul’s statement gives today’s church much to ponder.
Does the church today really care about the eternal salvation of our government leaders? If not, we must repent. Christ died for all people and the call of the church to care about all people. Christians must concern themselves with the eternal destiny of all people.
Believers should be about praying for the salvation of our leaders. We must petition the God of Abraham for their safety. It is good for God’s people to ask for the prosperity of all leaders in government, whether they be benevolent or malevolent. If we ever get the chance to directly share the gospel with leaders, let us take the opportunity.
Why must God’s church be of such disposition? We must be so because God calls His church to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Love shares the way to receive eternal life.
