- Romans 6:15 (NKJV)
Jesus Christ frees people from the demands of the Law. The work of Christ is the reason why people are free. Jesus fulfills the Law for us. When people depend upon Christ for salvation, that fulfillment from Christ is applied to the dependent person. The result is justification through Christ.
This justification means that believers now live under grace rather than Law. Some think that living under grace means freedom to sin. But to the contrary, justification means freedom from sin.
Freedom from sin means the power to say, “No”, to sin and, “Yes”, to God. Therefore, living under grace means that Christians may now master sin. This mastery over sin is what God wanted for man all along (Genesis 4:7).
So…Christian…how well do you say, “Yes”, to God? If you are redeemed by the blood of Christ, you possess the ability to reject sin and embrace God’s commands.
