Jesus Christ justified people when He died on the cross. He sealed this justification by being raised from the dead. The Lord perfectly fulfilled the Law as a man and through His fulfillment justified mankind.
3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
- Romans 8:3, 4 (NKJV)
Now that fulfillment is offered to all people. Those who trust in Christ for salvation receive the benefit of Christ fulfilling the Law. Christ’s good works are applied to the believer’s life. This is justification.
