Jesus was the true God who also became a man. He put on human flesh when He came to save the world. The humanity of Jesus Christ was real. He dwelt among people. They saw Him, touched Him, and spoke with Him.
Although His humanity was a reality, He never gave up any of His deity. The man, Jesus, who was brought forth by virgin birth, remained fully God. Jesus was always equal with God and will always be equal with God. In no way did the humanity of Jesus diminish His identity as the true God. The glory, which was the dignity and honor reserved only for the Master and Creator of all things never left Jesus. Human flesh and holy divinity coexisted in perfect harmony.
For the first time ever, a human being lived a complete life in obedience to God. Jesus possessed a nature which could be tempted but one in which temptation was never grasped. By never sinning, Jesus lived the life that fulfilled God’s Law. He accomplished this righteousness in human flesh and He did so in order to be our redeemer.
Within His human flesh dwelt the very nature of God. He was the begotten of the Father. He was not created as God’s Son. He was the eternal Son, the Word which was with the Father from the beginning (John 1:1-3).
His gift to the world was grace and truth (John 1:14). He told the truth about the condemnation of sinners and offered grace through His work for those sins to be removed.
This is the Master of all, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This is God in human flesh.
