Leaving her first love (Christ) (Rev. 2:4)
This is evidenced by relinquishing our responsibility to care for widows and orphans.
Adopting unbiblical teaching (Rev. 2:14, 15)
Some churches have abandoned making disciples and teaching them to obey the doctrine of Jesus.
Being corrupt (Rev. 2:20)
This is evidenced by a life of sexual impurity and idolatry.
Being dead (Rev. 3:1)
Some churches do not have nor do they welcome God’s Spirit. They are not spiritually alive.
Lukewarm (Rev. 3:15, 16)
Some Christians rest in their salvation without making effort to be on fire for God.
Do any of the five items listed describe your church family? If so, here are things you can do to help your church.
Ask the Lord to examine you and expose any sin in your life.
Recognize, confess, and forsake your personal sin.
God with your whole being and love your neighbor as yourself.
Resolve to be a student of God’s word. Encourage others in your church to do the same.
Use your spiritual gifts. How do you find those gifts? God will give you a desire to serve Him. Follow those desires and you will be using your gifts.
