- Romans 8:18
Paul writes that he reasons (logizomai) that present sufferings of the Christian are nothing compared to the finalization of the Christian’s salvation. Specifically, Paul states that for all for the difficult things the believer experiences here will soon be forgotten once the final glory comes. Paul’s reasoning comes from his full trust in God that future glory is coming. Paul truly believes that God will fully consummate the salvation promised to us. Because he believes so, Paul sets his vision upon what is coming. He looks in a manner in which the coming inheritance promised by God is a done deal. This is hope.
