I had a family member who suffered from a debilitating disease. In hopes of being healed, she attended a healing service conducted by a well-known faith healer. At the invitation of the faith healer, my family member made her way to the altar, anticipating her last moments being confined to a wheel chair. The time came for her to be healed…and nothing happened. She still could not walk. She still could not leave the wheel chair. She was still sick.
To this day, when I replay the response of the faith healer, I bristle with righteous (at least I hope it is righteous) anger. The faith healer said that the reason why my family member was not healed was because she did not have enough faith.
Jesus does not fail to answer our requests because of small faith. Just the fact that we approach the Lord with our requests, believing that He is true to His word, is faith enough. Faith is not something that we muster up to some acceptable level before God works in our lives. It comes from hearing God’s promises and asking Him to apply those promises to us. If we come before the Almighty on these terms, God grants our requests.
Sometimes, our faith can be quite small. Do not let your small faith prevent you from asking for that which God wants to give. Trust Him with the trust you have now.
